Family Homesteads can produce goods for both the nourishment of their residents and for sale to markets further afield. Australia should step boldly into our natural future, where every citizen can build their own life and home. As a federation of states, Australia’s yearly exports should not be in the hundreds of billions, but in the trillions of dollars. Family Homesteads offer a simple, long-term way of achieving this goal, with a fairer distribution of the spoils. We must think together, carefully, how to make this idea succeed!

Legislative support is necessary to designate suitable zones for the development of family homesteads, and facilitate the registration of new plots. A simpler and more accessible permit process is also necessary for those who wish to build their own house on their family homestead.
