More than 15 years ago, the dream was born in Russia: the dream about Family Homesteads, the piece of land where every family can create their own piece of homeland, for yourself and for your next generations.
The idea has found a response in the hearts of millions of Russian people, and started to become reality even before the Law on Family Homesteads was accepted. Over the last 15 years, the number of settlements has increased nearly 10 times, and now there are 370 settlements in Russia, comprising more than 10,000 families.
This project would to help every Russian family have one hectare of land for free and for perpetuity. Family Homesteads are created in settlements of 10 – 200 families, with all the necessary infrastructure. All products created in Family Homesteads are should be without taxes. Today, more than 250,000 families are waiting for the Law on Family Homesteads to be accepted so they can start to create new settlements.
The author of the idea is Vladimir Megre, described in the series of books, the “Ringing Cedars of Russia”, which have become international bestsellers. For these books, the writer Megre was presented the prestigious Gusi prize, analog of the Nobel prize.
Family Homesteads can be described as a piece of Paradise on Earth. If you imagine your own forest with mushrooms, berries and nut trees, your own springs and ponds, a house, sauna, well, ecologically clean food and plants, all grown with Love, without chemicals. “On our own land we plant everything ourselves, and everything responds, everything gives love back to us. You can feel it from the space. We used to travel in the summertime, but now we don’t want to go anywhere.”
Experience shows that a microclimate is created on each Family Homestead settlement. On a Family Homestead, 30 times less labour is required than a normal 600 sq. m. block of land. “The main principal is not just to come into the land, but to turn towards the land, and towards yourself. To live and to enjoy life like this, you actually have to live and enjoy it. Once we started to understand that we live in a Family Homestead settlement…”
The main idea in a Family Homestead settlement is to create the conditions to preserve love in families. The full feeling of the environment becomes the strong basis to preserve love in families, and providing growing children with a dimension of love is its main value. “In a Family Homestead, we learn about real life, what real life is. In a Family Homestead, I got to know about real life.”
Russian people need a law about Family Homesteads and support at the government level. That’s why the political party “Family Party” has been created, by the initiative of many people. On 10 Sep 2017, there will be elections in Saratov regional Duma. We need your signatures! For the first time in these elections will be representative Marina Kopenkina.
“I got to know this idea about two years ago. And this idea immediately made us take action. We chose a piece of land, 1.5 hectares of land, and already planted more than 300 trees and bushes. For me, the image of living in a Family Homestead helping/solving the two main tasks: health, strong families, and confidence in the future life.”
Present me my Homeland, so I can touch the grass with my face. Let this land tell my sleeping self about a dream, so I can wash my face with the morning dew, the milk of the Earth. So my family will be happy in eternity.
